Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic R & R Embedded Application Unit Manager to lead our embedded applications team. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of embedded software solutions while ensuring high-quality standards and efficient project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in embedded systems, and the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define and execute the unit's vision, mission, and strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  2. Ensure the team adheres to industry best practices, standards, and protocols for system performance, reliability, and security.
  3. Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  4. Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for team members.
  5. Communicate project updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  6. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, system engineering, project management, algorithm and embedded software team to deliver integrated solutions.
  7. Establish and continuously refine workflows, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  8. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement data-driven improvements.
  9. Ensure all projects meet regulatory requirements and internal quality benchmarks.
  10. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
  11. Encourage and support innovation to solve complex engineering challenges.
  12. Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues in embedded applications.
  13. Ensure all team members contribute to the regular releases and maintenance of the project documentation.
  14. Execute Line Management duties (e.g., approve holidays, performance review, yearly appraisal, and retrospective).

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  3. Strong proficiency in C, C++, Python, or other embedded programming languages.
  4. Experience with Linux, firmware development, and microprocessors.
  5. Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet).
  6. Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools.
  7. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in automotive, industrial automation, IoT, or medical device industries.
  2. Understanding of safety-critical software development and standards like ISO/IEC 12207, ISO/IEC 26262, IEC 61508.
  3. Knowledge of AI/ML applications in embedded systems.
