WHAT YOU WILL DO:

We have an opening for a motivated, collaborative and committed individual to fill our Network Engineer Tier III / Team Lead position within our Global Network operations team. The successful candidate will be working as part of a growing managed services organization with opportunities to work independently as well as part of a team with the ability to develop their managed service skills to the fullest. The role specifically involves working as a Network Engineer Tier III and supervising a Network Operations Engineering Team, supporting a large-scale enterprise network infrastructure for multiple customers.

The successful candidate will help develop and understand requirements from internal customers and create technical solutions to improve productivity and services. The candidate must have a strong technical background, be innovative and agile, collaborate well in a team environment, and have very strong written and verbal communication skills - a visionary who challenges the status quo and believes that technologies can level-up productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with monitoring and maintaining a multi-vendor, multi-protocol enterprise network:

  1. Maintain and support a large-scale enterprise network infrastructure that will include routers, switches, servers, network operating system software, network management software and other related hardware.
  2. Escalation SME & oversee the most critical and complex network issues.
  3. Respond to network alerts and diagnose causes with ability to create Root Cause Analysis.
  4. Work with telecommunication providers to resolve circuit related issues.
  5. Work with vendors to troubleshoot Configuration, Hardware and Software issues.
  6. Day-to-day support of large-scale network solutions.
  7. Support the engineering team in analysis of network events/outages to identify permanent resolution, prevention, as well as service improvements.
  8. SD-WAN and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
  9. Cisco DNAC (Catalyst Center) support.
  10. Ability and knowledge to assist with various network projects across multiple business units.
  11. Ability to create and update existing network documentation.
  12. Mentor junior engineers' members of the team.
  13. Participate in annual reviews of engineers on your team.
  14. Engage in escalations from junior engineers and the customer.
  15. Work with engineering team in doing analysis on network events/outages to identify permanent resolution, prevention, as well as improvements.
  16. Hours: typical range will be Mon-Fri 8:00am to 5:00pm with some out-of-hours work as required.
  17. Candidates can anticipate travel up to 25%.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  1. Networking Certifications such as Cisco CCNP is required.
  2. Expert-Level Networking Knowledge: Extensive understanding of network architecture, advanced routing and switching protocols, network security, and high-level network design.
  3. Expertise in resolving the most complex and critical network issues, often involving deep troubleshooting and advanced diagnostic techniques.
  4. 5+ years of recent experience with Layer 2 Switching protocols.
  5. 5+ years of recent experience with Layer 3 Routing protocols.
  6. Experience with multiple networking vendors including Cisco, HP, Aruba, Juniper, and Arista.
  7. Solid understanding of Enterprise Network Design, infrastructure, operational, and IT managed service (ITSM) best practices.
  8. Deep understanding and experience with technologies including RSTP/MSTP, VLAN, VTP, ARP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, UDP, NDP, VxLAN, VRRP, EtherChannel in a global enterprise environment.
  9. Knowledge of application-level protocols such as SNMP, telnet, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, DHCPv6, DNS, 802.1x, and IPsec.
  10. Strong Wi-Fi experience including design, implementation and troubleshooting.
  11. Ability to configure and troubleshoot routing / switching equipment.
  12. Ability to manage the team's workload and ensure SLAs are met.
  13. Experience with SDN and SDWAN deployments would be advantageous.
  14. Proficiency in Linux operating system, Note: scripting experience a plus.
  15. Experience with IPv4 & IPv6 in a dual stack is a plus.
  16. Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environments with limited supervision.
  17. Ability to work outside regular working hours as needed by the client, including evenings and weekends.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  1. Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE or specialized certification in network security or cloud networking is preferred.
  2. Experience with Python and Bash scripting.
  3. Global experience with enterprise environments.
  4. Strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Excellent customer-facing verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Proven organizational skills.
  7. Fluent in spoken & written English preferred.
  8. Strong mentoring skills and desire to mentor junior engineers.
