Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Functional Reporting Analyst that is ready to be a team player on a Global Technology Team that delivers a comprehensive and holistic approach to a Business – IT centric relationship for finance departments across the globe. The best candidate will be able to work effectively with Business partners, Testing Teams, and Data Engineers to develop, maintain and support the implementation of Cloud Data Lake activities through enterprise applications and exposure to Cloud based database platforms. The qualified candidate will review existing data input models, reports and dashboard views to analyze and identify how to successfully integrate financial data into a robust integrated reporting model across different financial workstreams.

We are looking for qualified candidates with experience in analytic platforms (PowerBI and Tableau) as well as exposure to Databricks. Users should have an understanding of Python coding and/or R skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Functional Reporting Analyst you will conduct end to end analysis and data gathering to assist in the design and identify development tasks that include data transformation into dashboard views and integrated reporting. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with a variety of data sources and data connection methods to integrate data into various analytic software platforms
  • Creation of data visualizations through the use of PowerBI and Tableau
  • Aid and train the team to effectively use analytical applications and tools through technology workshops.
  • Draft technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc.
  • Actively work with Business partners to establish new and improved processes and troubleshoot problem areas that require new and/or enhanced reporting and analytic solutions
  • Actively communicate with the Project Manager, Development Leads and team members to collaborate through the project lifecycle as data changes occur and understand the impacts that may have on the models and architecture/processes

Required Skills / Applications / Certifications to help you succeed in this role:

  • Proficient in Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Knowledge of Databricks
  • Python and/or R Skills knowledge is a Nice to Have
  • Exposure to Atlassian Cloud Jira and Confluence with an understanding of the Agile process
  • Excellent data management and reconciliation skills, including ETL (extract, transform, load) knowledge and data transformation dexterity.
  • Must be Analytical with strong skills in Critical and Strategic Thinking, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Verbal and Written Communication, Active Listening, and have very strong skills in Time Management.
  • Must have the ability to think analytically and determine the interrelationship between solutions and requirements through Business Analysis
  • Must be able to complete Business Requirements Documentation as well as take ownership and initiative while working in a complex deadline-oriented environment through Delivery and Project Management

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's Degree. The candidate should have industry experience (preferably in Financial Services) in reporting and data analysis with exposure to Power BI and Databricks or Cloud based database engineering platforms.
