Job Role:

A Portfolio Accounting Supervisor is required to execute our reconciliations service delivery. The reconciliations shall be executed within the guidelines and procedures provided by HedgeServ and under the supervision and guidance of a Portfolio Accounting Manager and Director. They will facilitate the timely and accurate delivery of operational deliverables (Trade, Cash and Portfolio reconciliations) and work closely with the portfolio accountants under their supervision. Supervision of the cash, position and OTC reconciliation process, including trade capture and processing corporate actions are an integral part of the Portfolio Accounting Supervisor's role. They will assist in the development of the team, setting goals and acting as a guide and mentor to direct reports. Every Portfolio Accounting Supervisor will receive the requisite Induction Training in addition to both compulsory (AML/KYC) and optional training.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review cash, position and market value reconciliations
  2. Resolve break items on reconciliations in a timely manner
  3. Review corporate actions
  4. Review income and expense accruals including fee calculations and trading accruals
  5. Review compliance with HedgeServ defined checklists, procedures and controls
  6. Converse and liaise with internal services departments to resolve miscellaneous fund issues
  7. Escalate issues and aged items to Portfolio Accounting Manager
  8. Assist team development by providing guidance, training and mentoring to Portfolio Accountants, setting their goals and monitoring performance
  9. Ensure pre-agreed internal and external deadlines are met consistently
Our Requirements:
  1. 3+ years' experience working in a hedge fund administration firm is required.
  2. Accounting, Finance, Legal or Business Degree.
  3. Intention to actively pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA), if not already started, part qualified or qualified, would be an advantage but is not required.
  4. IT Literate.
  5. Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong attention to detail and well organized.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  9. Ability to be flexible and work effectively both within a team structure and independently.
  10. Strong inter-personal skills.
  11. Good initiative tempered with identifying when escalation is required.
  12. Strong systems, product and process knowledge.
  13. Ability to positively influence team morale.
  14. Demonstrate leadership skills.
  15. Take ownership of designated tasks.
  16. Act as a role model for HedgeServ.
