Human Resources Country Head Poland –Managing Director

Role Description

  1. Business partner (BP) to the country business heads (SSBI and SSGA) and key member of the Poland Senior Management team

  2. In partnership with the relevant Global Human Resources Centres of Excellence (GHR COE) and global HR BPs, coordinate efficient and aligned delivery of GHR services in support of HR Strategy

  3. Partner with the Global HRBPs/Regional HRBP to deliver seamless delivery, business advisory and execution of country related HR Matters

  4. Ensure coordination and alignment with COEs as it relates to the country priorities

  5. Execute initiatives to drive business success and transformation, with a focus on attracting, retaining, deploying and developing talent and leadership

  6. (Co-)lead and manage the local HR team to ensure an aligned and client-focused HR delivery of the global and country priorities

  7. Represent the GHR function in relevant committees and governance bodies, ensuring full regulatory compliance of all GHR activities within the legal entities

  8. Act as the GHR liaison for interaction with local regulators

  9. Ensure GHR coverage for Audit/Compliance/FLOD initiatives

  10. Represent GHR in the local market to include participation on HR related boards and industry forums

  11. Location representative for business related communications e.g. business town halls, executive visits

  12. Provide support to Sales/RFP requests including coordinating data requests, draft

  13. Function as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on important HR topics

  14. Coach, mentor, and guide leaders on organizational effectiveness

  15. Support senior leadership in developing a culture of diversity and inclusion and promote the State Street values

  16. Mitigate risk by ensuring employment processes, practices and procedures are compliant with STT and SSBI policies, risk, and governance with a focus on employment laws and regulations – balancing local requirements with global approaches in a sensitive manner

  17. Provide data and analytics to support business insights and decisions; seek and share people related market trends and competitor intelligence

  18. Depending on further developments of the regional HR Country Head org set up, potentially oversee countries in terms of additional reporting lines

Role Qualifications & Experience

  1. Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology or comparable education

  2. 10+ years of practical HR experience in a HR generalist role, with a focus on Business Partnering within a large and dynamic organization

  3. HR expertise developed through extensive, senior experience across the broad spectrum of HR disciplines

  4. Proven to have successfully engaged with co-determination partners on various topics

  5. At ease in operating in a matrix environment, balancing requirements between a local/regional entity and a global corporation

  6. Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategy which supports business goals and objective

  7. Strong commercial acumen, preferable in the financial services industry

  8. Understanding of Polish corporate law in addition to a strong understanding of local employment and labour law

  9. Proven people management skills; and passion to lead, develop and build multi-functional HR teams within a matrix

  10. Experience in representing the entities and senior management in related committees and meetings

  11. Superior communication, presentation, consulting, interpersonal, influencing, negotiating and critical thinking skills

  12. Personal presence and gravitas

  13. International experience and ability to work and strive in a multicultural, diverse working environment

  14. Resilience and ability to balance competing priorities
