Offer Description

The Director of the Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences in Cracow, announces an open competition for the position of research assistant in the field of automation, electrical engineering, and the application of machine learning methods for modeling in the DIVISION OF MINERALS AND ENERGY SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. Candidates should meet the conditions set out in Article 89, paragraph 4. Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences of April 30, 2010, with subsequent changes.

Minimum Requirements
  • A master's degree in the field of engineering and technical sciences, in the discipline of Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy, or Automatics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Space Technologies.
  • A certificate confirming proficiency in English or another congress language (German, French, Spanish, Russian, Italian) at a level of at least B2.
  • Demonstrating an aptitude for scientific research.
Specific Requirements

An additional advantage will be:

  • Proficiency in using software such as Matlab, Python, Multisim, TIA Portal, CODESYS, MSOffice, AutoCAD.
  • Experience in programming and modeling energy systems using machine learning methods.
  • Experience in developing and implementing control algorithms in automation systems.
  • Completion of a scientific internship or student training in the field of automation or programming.
  • Documenting previous scientific activity and efforts in science popularization.
  • Experience in scientific research and conducting studies in the field of automation, electrical engineering, and the application of machine learning methods in modeling.

Languages: ENGLISH Level Good

  • A copy of the master's degree diploma.
  • A certificate confirming proficiency in a foreign language as specified in the requirements.
  • A list of publications and implemented projects or research services.
  • A recommendation letter from a researcher confirming the candidate's aptitude for scientific work.
  • A statement declaring that the Institute will be the candidate's primary place of employment (if the competition is won).
  • A declaration of acceptance of the competition terms.
