Kraków, Lesser Poland Splunk Pełny etat

Splunk is here to build a safer and more resilient digital world. The world's leading enterprises use our unified security and observability platform to keep their digital systems secure and reliable. While customers love our technology, it's our people that make Splunk stand out as an amazing career destination and why we've won so many awards as a best place to work. If you become a Splunker, we want your whole, authentic self, what we call your "million data points". So bring your work experience, problem-solving skills and talent, of course, but also bring your joy, passion, and all the things that make you.

Splunk's DevObs Platform group is looking for a Manager to help lead and grow our observability platform. We focus on providing clear, reliable, and consistent testing, merge, and deployment services for Splunk's internal product.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, retain, and hire a site reliability engineering team, focused on making our industry-leading technology even more valuable to our customers.
  • Plan and support career development through one-on-one conversations.
  • Champion an atmosphere of continuous improvement by serving as a leader, mentor, and technical advisor.
  • Partnering with your peer managers, Technical Operations, and Release Management Team, and many others to improve the reliability of Splunk releases.
  • Stay organized and communicate your team's plans, roadblocks, and wins to the organization.
WHAT YOU PROVIDE
  • Demonstrated experience leading positive change, hiring and empowering people, cultivating innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.
  • Experience in building software abstractions and tooling to enable developer velocity.
  • Experience in CI/CD governance, monitoring, and metrics-driven architecture.
  • Own end-to-end availability and performance of critical services to reduce operational overhead.
  • Drive for Automation. You constantly challenge the status quo and are driven to automate manual processes. You inspire teams to embrace this philosophy.
  • Cloud, container, and virtualization experience. Innovating and scaling secure services in different cloud providers is a plus. You will use Splunk, SignalFX, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP, Gitlab, and other best-in-class technology.
  • Foster growth. You will meet with team members regularly, help plan and support career development, and recruit top-tier developers.
  • BS/MS degree in EE, CS, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of proven experience in managing SRE teams (either through infrastructure, developer tools, or products).
  • Desire to learn and adapt. You will constantly be learning new areas and new technologies.
  • Passion. Our customers are passionate about Splunk, and we want the same from our engineers. We want you to be excited and fully own your projects.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
  • Impact. An ecosystem to continuously improve processes that directly enhance reliability for our thousands of cloud customers.
  • Strategy. An opportunity to decide what this team should look like one year from now. As we automate existing manual processes, what skills should the team learn in the next 12 months?
  • A team of incredibly capable and dedicated peers, including engineering, technical operations, sales, support, and management.
  • Breadth and depth. You are interested in working on an area that dynamically scales to meet the needs of Splunk's offerings. You want to go deep into optimizing our manual processes and the tedious tasks we encounter.
  • Growth and mentorship. We believe in growing managers and engineers through ownership and leadership opportunities. We also believe that mentors help both sides of the equation.
  • A stable, collaborative, and encouraging work environment. We work in an open environment, work together to get things done and adapt to the changing needs for the team. We keep it real by being open and honest. We are a collaborative team that understands the value of open communication and how we interact with our customers.
  • Balance. We don't expect people to work 12-hour days. We want you to be successful outside of work too. Want to work from home sometimes or all the time? No problem. We trust our colleagues to be responsible with their time, and believe that balance helps cultivate a positive environment.
  • Fun. We are committed to having every employee want to give it their all, be respectful and a part of the team, and have a smile on their face while doing it.
