In your role you will work with operational and financial stakeholders to optimize and control the cost and revenue elements of the business. As a business controller, you will be expected to quickly get to know the business and work across the floor and support stakeholders' decision-making processes.
As Business Controller you will have the opportunity to drive financial analysis and decision support to the rig & project profitability.

Your responsibilities

  1. Functional reporting to Head of Finance Services - you will be interacting with multiple stakeholders within the organisation, in equal proportion within and outside Finance. The role is a high visibility role, with specific areas of responsibility as below:
  2. Revenue Controlling: Analysis and Control to make sure that all revenue streams have been correctly billed to the customer, in a timely and accurate manner. Being able to understand the contractual requirements and translate them into a financial view is a key requirement.
  3. Cost Controlling: Analysis and Control to make sure that Costs, both on operational and capex projects are adequately controlled & there are explanations for when over & under budget. You can expect to be a business partner whereby your insight into the cost controlling is used to make better decisions for the business. You will prepare and support the cost controlling discussions with the business stakeholders.
  4. Forecasting: As an outcome of your learning from the Revenue and Cost controlling, together with your business understanding, you will be expected to partner with Operational Finance Business Partners and Rig Team to create better forecasts.
  5. Analysis: Drive various ad hoc financial analysis with stakeholders to understand the financial and operational footprint impacting forward-looking business decision making to improve business results.
  6. Continuous improvement: Drive simplification of reports, analytics tools and automation of revenue & cost controlling.

Our requirements

  1. Minimum bachelor's degree in finance or equivalent.
  2. 5 + years of experience in finance with a focus on business controlling or related business.
  3. Full professional proficiency of written and oral English (min. B2).
  4. Knowledge of Project cost controlling within an ERP system.
  5. Advanced knowledge in all areas required to fulfil key responsibilities, in particular revenue and cost accounting and cost levers.
  6. Experience in executing global processes and working or leading effectively.
  7. In-depth knowledge of Finance processes and policies and full ability to apply these in the daily work.
