We are excited to partner again with a pioneering, profitable startup that is fundamentally reshaping online security for the AI era. Their mission is to build the "Stripe for Trust"—an API-first platform serving billions of real-time requests for world-class companies. As the internet is being rebuilt by AI, the old model of "bots vs. humans" is obsolete. Our client is building the foundational layer for this new reality. They are seeking an experienced, product-driven Staff Engineer to lead the development of core features and help define the future of their platform. The Opportunity This is a role for a true builder who thrives at the intersection of product and engineering. You will be a technical leader responsible for solving complex customer problems, shipping high-impact features, and optimizing the systems that serve billions of API requests. Your mission is to translate product vision into robust, scalable, and elegant technical solutions. You will have a direct impact on the product roadmap and mentor a team of talented engineers, driving the technical direction for key product areas. Who We're Looking For: We are looking for a specific kind of engineer—one with a founder's mentality and a deep passion for building products customers love. You are the right fit if you have: An Entrepreneurial Spirit: You have experience as a founder or were an early, pivotal employee in a startup. You are autonomous, take extreme ownership, and are driven by impact. A Clear Growth Trajectory: Your career history shows clear evidence of growth within the same company over several years, with promotions and increasing levels of responsibility. Deep Backend Expertise: You are a seasoned expert in Ruby (preferred) or Node.js , with a strong command of software architecture and best practices. Proven Ability with Low-Latency APIs: You have a demonstrated track record of building, optimizing, and scaling high-performance, real-time APIs that are critical to the business. Modern Database Experience: You have recent, hands-on experience working with ClickHouse or similar columnar/analytical databases to handle large-scale data. Experience with AI/ML: You have practical experience or a keen interest in the rapidly evolving world of generative AI, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) , or related machine learning technologies. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and maintenance of core product features from concept to deployment. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and customers to define and solve complex challenges. Architect and build highly scalable, low-latency APIs and backend services. Mentor other engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Contribute significantly to the technical and product strategy and roadmap.
