Job Title: AP/AR Accountant

As a key member of our Subledger Competence Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial transactions. Reporting to the Subledger Competence Team Leader, you will work closely with the Finance team and various stakeholders to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vendor and customer transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Record and assign vendor invoices for approval in our document management system.
  • Post vendor invoices and employee expenses in our financial accounting system.
  • Raise payments to vendors and employees in line with due dates.
  • Record payments in our document management system and post to vendor accounts in the financial system.
  • Manage and post company credit card transactions in the financial system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and customer records in our financial accounting system.
  • Record and post payments received to customer accounts.
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable subledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Verify amounts received and ensure transactions are posted promptly and accurately.
  • Follow up on overdue debts with customers.
  • Prepare reports of aged debts and escalate overdue debts to management as necessary.
  • Respond to customer/vendor enquiries as appropriate.
  • Provide assistance with statutory audits as required.
  • Provide assistance with the preparation of VAT returns as required.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable environment.
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting (University or Accountants Association Certificate).
  • Able to maintain strong and influential working relations with other members of the Finance team and other stakeholders.
  • Good IT application skills and experience. Experience of using integrated accounting systems. Proficient in use of Excel.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Polish.
  • Communicative German and/or Dutch would also be an advantage.
