  • Key responsibilities:
  • Architectural Design & Innovation: Drive architectural design decisions and innovation to ensure software solutions are scalable, secure, and performant.
  • Quality Standards & Best Practices: Implement and enforce development standards, including quality gates, code formatters, checkstyles, and best practices for maintaining high-quality code.
  • System & Process Improvements: Propose and implement improvements to existing systems and development processes, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Over 5 years of experience in software development with a focus on COBOL, and in applying best development practices and principles.
  • Experience with development lifecycle tools such as Bitbucket, SonarQube, GitLab, IBM Software Analyzer, and other relevant tools for code quality, version control, and testing.
  • Deep understanding of COBOL and other relevant technologies, with experience in developing and maintaining legacy systems.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex problems, troubleshoot development and architectural issues, and propose effective solutions.
