We are seeking a highly experienced Scrum Master to lead our investment banking teams. As the ideal candidate, you will possess a strong background in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and have experience working in the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Scrum Master for multiple teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes productivity and ensures effective Scrum events with the right cadence, purpose, and participants.
  • Work closely with Product Owners to manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of the work to be done and its business value.
  • Identify and remove impediments, addressing roadblocks promptly to maintain team productivity.
  • Ensure teams maintain focus on Agile principles and Scrum practices, coaching them to improve processes and efficiency continuously.
  • Track and report on team progress and performance using Agile metrics like velocity, burndown charts, and other key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams, including developers, stakeholders, and other teams within the organization.
  • Support stakeholder management, ensuring transparency and alignment between teams and business leaders.
  • Resolve conflicts and foster a positive team culture by encouraging collaboration.
  • Encourage continuous improvement through regular retrospectives and open feedback environments.
  • Utilize Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint to manage workflows, track progress, and communicate with the team and stakeholders.
  • Leverage Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) for reporting and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Assist in onboarding and mentoring new Scrum team members, integrating them into the Scrum framework and team dynamics.
  • Provide leadership and accountability within teams, ensuring Scrum processes are followed and team goals are met.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, preferably in the investment banking or financial services industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum events, roles, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to perform the Scrum Master role across multiple teams and foster a collaborative team culture.
  • Experience in facilitating Agile ceremonies, resolving conflicts, and enabling teams to focus on delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate technical and business issues and solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, foster teamwork, and influence without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple teams effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • A deep understanding of the investment banking environment is beneficial.
