About the Role

This exciting opportunity is focused on creating and maintaining statistical forecasts for portfolios across various time horizons. You will also be responsible for running machine learning forecasts and ensuring data quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain statistical forecasts for entire portfolios considering demand drivers at agreed hierarchy levels.
  • Research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and evaluate forecast performance.
  • Monitor and report on specific KPIs (e.g., forecast accuracy, bias, MAPE, forecast value add) at multiple levels and lags, providing insights on contributing factors and improvement opportunities.
  • Select the best statistical model for forecast items that cannot be modeled by the system, considering seasonality, responsiveness, trend, and stability.
  • Contribute to promotion planning based on data insights.
  • Run machine learning forecasts and disaggregation to building blocks.
  • Run automatic cleansing, ensuring final output (cleansed data) is completed in the system.
  • Generate historical demand performance reports and ensure all necessary actions are considered for forecasting.
  • Analyze proposal of like-SKU and collaborate with Demand Planners to generate initial forecasts, considering cannibalization impacts.
  • Optimize and tune statistical forecasts, updating system parameters after conducting necessary analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Track and monitor changes to allow for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, applied math, or other relevant degrees.
  • Strong understanding of advanced planning systems and its functionality (e.g., Kinaxis, o9 Solutions).
  • Knowledge of ERP functionality, experience with SAP/Oracle/JDE an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in forecasting (statistical techniques, collaboration scenario modeling, parameters modeling).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional drive, excellent interpersonal skills, and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to contribute immediately in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of client focus.
  • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail, with a desire to learn.
