Job Description
We're seeking a talented Linux Support Engineer to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your technical expertise and contribute to the success of our organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Active monitoring of the Linux team's incident/request queue, setting prioritization, and processing tickets in a timely manner
- Execution of production changes while adhering to change management guidelines
- Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux servers and related hardware/software components
- In-depth analysis for post-impact resolution, RCA, remedial actions, and problem management
- Management and troubleshooting of AD integrated authentication on Linux servers
- Management and troubleshooting of existing Ansible playbooks used for configuration management across the Linux environment
- Cross-functional collaboration to monitor system performance, analyze system logs, and proactively address issues
- Development and maintenance of system documentation, including configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting steps
Required Skills
- 3-5+ years of experience Linux Administration in a production environment
- Infrastructure as code concepts (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or similar)
- Authentication, privilege management, and integration with Active Directory
- Ansible for automation and configuration management
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Creating and maintaining remote mounts (CIFS/samba/NFS) for both client and server configurations
- Local disk management and network-based storage concepts and related configurations (HBA, PowerPath, LVM, etc.)
- Scripting languages like Bash or Python for automation and task scripting
- Networking concepts, protocols, and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
