A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Designer, you will be the project technical design lead for rotating machinery projects, supporting a multi-disciplinary engineering team from sales handover through project execution.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Design and layout rotating reciprocating compressors packages based on detailed customer and engineering requirements.
• Develop mechanical systems including structural base frames, instrumentation, and piping systems.
• Produce 3D models of packages, incorporating internal and supplier designs.
• Produce general arrangement drawings based on customer requirements.
• Produce assembly and sub-assembly drawings and related bills of material.
• Produce fabrication and weldment drawings and related bills of material.
• Ensure that the highest engineering and drafting standards are maintained during the design and manufacture of these products.
• Provide design guidance to the responsible engineer for the project based on industry/technical knowledge of the system design.
• Ensure that all drawings align with industry, departmental, and field standards.
• Knowledge about the Geometrical Dimensioning and tolerance as per ASME Y standard.
• Support production operations by solving drawings.
• Prevent future design errors by being involved in the design review process as well as being involved with the correction of project non-conformances.
• Closely coordinate with other functional departments of the company & suppliers to meet technical requirements & timely execution of the order.
• Implement corrective actions, preventive actions, and develop systems & procedures for continual improvement of current designing and drafting practices.

What You Bring

• 2 years of proven experience in CAD/Design. Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for work experience.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD and 2D CAD systems with proven experience is required.
• Experience with design in NX is preferred.
• Excellent digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel).
• Experience with design in COMOS or (will be an advantage).
• Experience with SAP Spherion and/or Atlas is preferred (will be an advantage).
• Proficient in the English language.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a distributed team.
