About the Opportunity

As a software engineer at Google, you will be part of a team that develops cutting-edge technologies to connect billions of users worldwide. Our products require handling vast amounts of information, and we are constantly innovating beyond web search.

We're looking for talented engineers who can bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile development. As a software engineer, you will work on a critical project with opportunities to switch teams and projects as our business grows and evolves.

You will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. Our team creates smart components and common experiences used by Google Cloud customers across web and mobile devices.

We own the design systems, common and smart components for Google Cloud Mobile and Console. We ensure experiences are consistent, intuitive, and delightful to build and use. Beyond leading the AI-first experience for our customers, we provide GCP-wide experiences directly to customers on various surfaces.

$175,000 - $250,000 per year

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical lead for the team.
  • Contribute to launching and delivering AI-driven components for Google Cloud Platform.
  • Work with internal partner teams and external customers to understand and deliver on requirements.
  • Bring quality focus to the team and advance the line on better quality and support for customers.
  • Build and maintain a healthy relationship with the GCP developer community.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of coding experience in C, C++, Java, or Python, or general purpose programming languages like Java, C/C++, Python, Objective C, JavaScript, or Go.
  • Experience in Object-Oriented Design and programming concepts.
  • Experience with server-side web frameworks like JSP or ASP.Net.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux, distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience working with web application development, network programming, or developing large software systems, Security software development, mobile application development, natural language processing.
