We are currently developing an ultra-performant Data Processing Framework with a Python API, distributed Rust engine, and capabilities for data source integration & transformation at scale (Kafka, S3, databases/CDC,...). This framework is designed to handle complex data use cases such as RAG/LLM, event-stream data (including real-world data such as IoT), and graph data that changes over time.

The Opportunity

We are seeking 1 or 2 talented R&D Engineers to join our team and contribute to the development of our core data processing components. Successful candidates will have a strong track record in designing efficient data storage systems and/or algorithms, and will be passionate about working on complex data processing challenges.

Your Role

You will be responsible for creating code to optimize index-like data structures used in our core data processing and data storage components. You will also help design algorithms and data structures that work in a dynamic distributed manner, and contribute to other aspects of the system such as persistency.

The results of your work will play a crucial role in building and optimizing both the foundations of our data processing product, and its core algorithms library.

Requirements

To ensure coherence within our team, you are expected to meet at least two of the following criteria:

  1. You have a strong academic background in Computer Science, with a focus on Algorithms, Formal Methods, Graph Theory, Calculus, Probability, and Distributed Systems.
  2. You have at least 6 months of experience working for a FAANG company (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google).
  3. You have previously exited a start-up successfully, with a notable impact on the industry.
  4. You have participated in ICPC World Finals or top-10 teams in your Region.
  5. You have won medals in High School competitions such as IOI, IMO, or IPhO.
  6. You have achieved top-10 finishes in major Kaggle contests.

About You

As a successful candidate, you should be ready to contribute hands-on to our product, curious about data processing challenges, and proficient in Rust programming. Familiarity with multi-threaded and distributed systems, graph algorithms, Python, SQL, and git is highly desirable. You should also have at least 2 years of experience in software development, and basic knowledge of statistical concepts.

Bonus Points

Industry experience in data store / DBMS optimization or designing distributed algorithms is a significant advantage. A successful track-record in algorithms contests, a portfolio showcasing your code or research papers, familiarity with stream processing concepts, and knowledge of Machine Learning approaches on graphs are also highly valued.
