The Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team in this exciting phase of our business.

You will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with data engineers and analysts to develop and deliver data products from concept to production.
  • Leading and owning the full lifecycle of data engineering projects.
  • Designing and implementing complex data flows to process external data sources, providing us with a competitive edge.
  • Acting as a consultant to the business to meet their needs.
  • Maintaining existing data solutions to ensure reliability and high data quality.
  • Innovating by recommending opportunities to improve data engineering tooling and processes.
  • Mentoring and guiding more junior colleagues.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience working in Data Engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Azure and Databricks Data Platform technology stacks, including:

Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)

Azure SQL (PaaS)

Azure Data Factory (ADF)

Azure Databricks (including Python coding)

Azure Functions

  • Experience with data modeling techniques relevant in Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence contexts (such as Kimball and Data Vault).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to new information in a remote team environment.
  • Experience developing optimal and reliable ETL processes in cloud environments.
  • Experience maintaining and supporting existing data solutions in Production environments.
