Truck Driver

Legrand Av is seeking a skilled CDL A Driver to join our team

Job Summary

This position will operate a dock truck that transports cargo to and from specified local destinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service.
• Assist in loading, securing and unloading cargo.
• Maintain radio or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in the schedule.
• Maintain logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations.
• Responsible for vehicle maintenance and presentation.
• Responsible for ensuring proper inventory delivered and picked up.
• Responsible for checking all inventory logs against delivered and picked up merchandise.
• Must be licensed to operate a semi-truck.
• Must have clear driving record.
• Responsible for daily inspections of vehicle.
• Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations.
• Working in other areas and roles as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Safe driver with knowledge of Twin Cities area.
• Good people skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read and write English.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Class A license with airbrakes experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of driving experience in a similar position.
• No traffic violations in the last three years.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Regular shop assembly/distribution center environment.
• Will require regular ground travel to other company facilities within local metropolitan area.
