Battery Energy Storage System Expert Wanted

Forte Renewables is a global consulting firm specializing in wind and solar power generation. Our mission is to provide best-in-class technical services to ensure our clients achieve their project goals. With a strong presence in international markets, we are currently seeking a skilled Battery Energy Storage System Expert to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical reviews for new and existing energy storage equipment and systems, including control systems and system architectures;
  • Provide technical advice on option analysis reports, conceptual and detailed designs;
  • Network and controls of Battery Energy Storage Systems;
  • Power conversion systems, including inverters and DC/DC converters;
  • Isolation and power transformers;
  • Medium voltage switchgear;
  • Protection and control systems;
  • Grounding/earthing systems;
  • LV and MV ac and dc cable systems;
  • Plant auxiliary equipment, scope of works, cost estimates, cost modeling, and delivery plans;
  • Conduct energy modeling of hybrid systems, including energy storage plus generation or stand-alone energy storage and interaction with the grid;
  • Support the development of internal tools and databases related to Battery Energy Storage technology, performance, and cost of energy storage technologies;
  • Conduct detailed technical research related to energy storage modeling, technology development, and manufacturing trends.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations;
  • No less than 5 years of professional experience in an engineering environment;
  • Knowledge of various battery technologies, including flow battery technologies;
  • Significant experience in Battery Energy Storage System design and project delivery, ideally gained in a consultancy environment;
  • Strong understanding of relevant standards and regulations for Battery Energy Storage projects;
  • A proven track record in grid-scale, hybrid, and off-grid Battery Energy Storage project delivery;
  • Experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Battery Energy Storage Systems is a plus;
  • Knowledgeable on network and controls, communication protocols, Modbus mapping, IP addresses, network switches, and Local/network controllers;
  • Must be flexible, able to adapt to new situations, practice good self-discipline, and have high integrity;
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with clients.
