About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vice President, Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join our TSG Mainframe Database Enterprise Services team. This role is located in Wrocław - Hybrid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and upgrade DB and related software products, including middleware products with both mainframe and distributed components.
  • Troubleshoot DB subsystem problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Customize software to meet user needs and communicate effectively with application programmers and DBA's.
  • Design, implement, integrate, and provide full support for complex software in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment.
  • Research and recommend system software to meet corporate standards and objectives for system performance.
  • Identify and solve complex and critical systems-related issues to meet the objectives for the corporation.
  • Provide input into platform selection, version implementation, software product recommendation, and usage of enhanced functionality.
  • Assist with complex issues in the installation, support, troubleshooting, and repair of data centre equipment.
  • Implement, integrate, and provide full support for middleware software in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment.
  • Collaborate and consult with application development teams to determine middleware platform selection, efficient transaction design, use, and recovery procedures in line with business requirements.
  • Communicate with internal and external system users to address concerns and ensure technical issues are dealt with appropriately.
  • Manage ticket queues and handle complex escalated issues.
  • Analyze repeat incident patterns to identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity enhancements.
  • Work with vendors to ensure efficient incident resolution.
Requirements
  • Strong z/OS Mainframe Systems Programming background, including SMPE.
  • Senior-level knowledge of DB and DB Data Sharing.
  • Experience working with vendors to resolve software and systems issues.
  • Installation and maintenance of DB program product installations, including creating implementation and backout plans.
  • Ability to provide coverage for DB and product installations and mainframe initiatives, willing to work weekends.
  • Strong knowledge of REXX Programming.
  • DB Connect on LUW skills are highly valued.
  • Experience with Performance/Monitoring products and performance tuning is a plus.
  • Knowledge of products like BMC-Catalog Manager, BMC-Apptune, IBM-Optim, Rocket-Shadow, Broadcom-SYSVIEW, Informatica-Powerexchange, and IBM Q/SQL-Rep.
  • Able to communicate effectively with application programmers and DBA's.
  • Troubleshoot DB subsystem problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Ability to lead projects and complete them on schedule.
  • Experience with Service Now and JIRA.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred, - years of related infrastructure experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
