Job Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will design and implement data platforms using public cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), Kafka, Spark, databases, and containers.

You will develop data platforms based on open-source software and Cloud services, building ETL pipelines to onboard data into the platform, defining schema, and monitoring data quality.

This role also involves helping develop machine learning development frameworks and pipelines, managing mission-critical production services, and ensuring system stability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Platform Development: Design and implement scalable data platforms using public cloud infrastructure, containerization, and distributed computing technologies.
  • ETL Pipeline Management: Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines to onboard data into the platform, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Machine Learning Support: Collaborate with the ML team to develop and deploy machine learning models, ensuring seamless integration with the data platform.
  • Production Service Management: Oversee the operation of critical production services, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong attention to detail: Ensuring data precision and quality is paramount in this position.
  • Production Operations Experience: Proven experience in maintaining system stability and responsibly managing releases.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Ability to liaise with team members and end-users on requirements and issues.
  • Agile and Self-Motivated: A self-starter who can take ownership of tasks and deliver results with minimal assistance.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, databases, Python, and related ecosystems, as well as experience with AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and Linux.
  • Distributed Computing Experience: Familiarity with parallel and distributed computing technologies.
  • Automation and DevOps Practices: Experience with automation tools like Gitlab, Terraform, and Prometheus.
