Job Responsibilities
  • Designing, building, and maintaining databases for SQL Server environments.
  • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting database software.
  • Performing database backup and recovery operations.
  • Upgrading and maintaining server and database monitoring software.
  • Documenting procedures and systems.
  • Maintaining system security and user access control.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field.
  • 1+ years of proven support in complex SQL Server database environments.
  • Experience with SQL Server standalone and clustered environments.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
  • Proven experience executing all areas of database administration on current technologies.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for critical database, networking and system administration issues.
  • Critical thinking skills, ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to handle diverse situations and rapidly changing priorities with deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively and work effectively under pressure and with a high degree of independence.
  • Ability to fully document technical design and related project or systems-level documentation.
  • Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, and management to troubleshoot issues, develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills in the English language.
  • Works with minimal supervision and receives general direction from the Database Administrator Lead.
  • Must be able to work independently or in teams on assigned tasks with a high degree of technical judgment.
  • Professional experience with additional DBA responsibilities in non-Oracle platforms (SQL Server, etc.).
  • Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL platforms.
