Job Description

This role requires you to be based in or close to Kraków. We currently work in a hybrid model, meeting in our office 3 days a week.

The Data Engineering department at Tesco Technology handles a range of critical responsibilities, including:

  • Analyzing order and delivery data to optimize logistics processes and enhance delivery efficiency.

  • Managing critical data related to customer orders, suppliers, and products to ensure seamless fulfillment operations.

  • Upholding data integrity and security during the processing of order and delivery-related information.

As we continue to expand, we're seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team of analytics experts. In this role, you'll expand and refine our data and data pipeline architecture, optimizing data flow and collection for cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.

  • Assemble large complex data sets meeting functional and non-functional business requirements.

  • Identify and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources.

  • Build analytics tools utilizing the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and key business performance metrics.

  • Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

  • Ensure data security and separation.

  • Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members to assist them in building and optimizing our product.

  • Collaborate with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

Qualifications

We're looking for a Data Engineer with expertise in:

  • Apache Spark and Scala.
  • Data Storage: Apache HDFS or cloud alternatives.
  • Resource Manager: Apache Yarn or cloud alternatives.
  • Lakehouse: Apache Hive/Kyuubi or alternatives.
  • Workflow Scheduler: Airflow or alternatives.

Nice to have skills include functional programming, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, stream processing, and CI/CD.
