Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile Development team. As a key member of our technical leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of our mobile applications, ensuring exceptional user experiences, and driving innovation and efficiency within the team.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to the Mobile Development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Coding and Development: Participate in hands-on coding and development activities, ensuring the team adheres to industry-leading practices and coding standards.
- Testing and Optimization: Oversee the testing and optimization process, ensuring the alignment of outcomes with project requirements and adhering to established design control processes.
- Architecture and Scalability: Architect and optimize the mobile application architecture to ensure stability, safety, and seamless user experiences.
- Roadmap Management and Prioritization: Develop and manage the team's roadmap, prioritizing tasks and distributing work among team members.
- Third-Party Integrations: Oversee the integration of third-party tools and APIs, ensuring smooth data flow and seamless integration with external systems.
- Process Development and Optimization: Develop and optimize the team's workflow, troubleshooting current processes and implementing new ones as needed.
- Technical Advancement: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and tools, implementing new solutions to improve efficiency and work quality.
- Documentation: Create technical documents for risk assessment, architecture, and development processes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on building consumer-facing applications with large databases.
- Proven experience as a Lead Developer or similar role, with experience managing and building development processes.
- Previous experience managing remote teams in non-English speaking countries.
- Deep understanding of frontend, iOS, Android, and management.
- Ability to understand and work with the tech stack used by the team: JavaScript, React, Vue for frontend; Java, microservices architecture for backend; Python for algorithms, Java, Kotlin for Android development; AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, SES, etc.
- Experience with full-stack development is highly preferred, though detailed knowledge of back-end platforms is not mandatory as long as the EM understands their architecture and interdependencies.
- Knowledge of test automation, quality assurance practices, and reliability engineering to ensure high-quality and reliable applications.
- Ability to create technical designs and understand software architecture to guide the team in building scalable and robust systems.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate challenges and drive innovation within the team.
- Ability to move fast with a strong bias for action.
