As a Project Designer at Siemens Energy, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing rotating machinery projects for our clients. Your expertise in 3D CAD and 2D CAD systems will enable you to create innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

About the Role

Our team is responsible for the technical design lead for rotating machinery projects, supporting a multi-disciplinary engineering team from sales handover through project execution. Your primary responsibility will be to design mechanical systems, including structural base frames, instrumentation, and piping systems.

Key Responsibilities

2. Layout and design rotating reciprocating compressors packages based on detailed customer and engineering requirements.
   
3. Design mechanical systems, including structural base frames, instrumentation, and piping systems.
   
4. Produce 3D models of packages, incorporating internal and supplier designs.
   
5. Produce general arrangement drawings based on customer requirements.
   
6. Produce assembly and sub-assembly drawings and related bills of material.
   
7. Produce fabrication and weldment drawings and related bills of material.
   
8. Ensure that the highest engineering and drafting standards are maintained during the design and manufacture of these products.
   
9. Provide design guidance to the responsible engineer for the project based on industry/technical knowledge of the system design.
   
10. Ensure that all drawings align with industry, departmental, and field standards.
    
11. Knowledge about the Geometrical Dimensioning and tolerance as per ASME Y standard.
    
12. Support production operations by solving drawings.
    
13. Prevent future design errors by being involved in the design review process as well as being involved with the correction of project non-conformances.
    
14. Closely coordinate with other functional departments of the company and suppliers to meet technical requirements and timely execution of the order.
    
15. Take corrective actions, preventive actions, and develop systems and procedures for continual improvement of current designing and drafting practices.
    

Requirements

1. 
   
2. 2 years of proven experience in CAD/design. Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for work experience.
   
3. Knowledge of 3D CAD and 2D CAD systems with proven experience is required.
   
4. Experience with design in NX is preferred.
   
5. Excellent digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel).
   
6. Experience with design in COMOS or will be an advantage.
   
7. Experience with SAP Spherion and/or Atlas is preferred and will be an advantage.
   
8. Proficient in the English language.
   
9. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a distributed team.
