About the Team

The cross-functional cloud platform team at PAYBACK consists of 9 members with diverse backgrounds in software development, business analysis, infrastructure engineering, security, and architecture. The team enjoys a high degree of autonomy in decision-making and a strong relationship with platform customers.

Joining the Cloud Platform Team

You will be part of a mission to build and evolve the best platform for PAYBACK product crews to rapidly deliver high-quality products safely on the Google Cloud. As part of your work, you will be involved in all phases of the platform product you are working on, including planning, designing, developing, deploying, enhancing, testing, troubleshooting, and integrating other systems.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Understand product team requirements and implement them using infrastructure as code practices.
  2. Ensure the robustness of the platform, considering trade-offs between customer autonomy, security, and compliance.
  3. Design and implement platform features.
  4. Participate in story refinements.
  5. Work in an agile environment according to Kanban methodology.
  6. Stay up-to-date on Google Cloud changes and new features.
  7. Conduct POCs for new Google Cloud offerings and present results.
  8. Pair with coworkers during implementation.
  9. Provide support to customers via different support channels.
  10. Contribute to continuously improving our ways of working, the platform, and processes.
  11. Work towards self-service capabilities to reduce toil and manual work for the company.
  12. Cover on-call duties to handle incidents.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 2 years of work experience in cloud platform engineering, ideally on Google Cloud.
  2. Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform.
  3. Proficient in at least one programming language, e.g., Python, Java, Go, Bash, etc.
  4. Strong DevOps mindset and working experience.
  5. Knowledge in hybrid on-premise/Cloud setups.
  6. Continuous delivery/integration know-how, e.g., Jenkins, Google Cloud Build, etc.
  7. Version Control Systems (Git).
  8. Unit Testing, Integration Testing.
  9. Experienced in Container technologies.
  10. Good understanding of cloud identity access management (IAM).
  11. Linux knowledge.
  12. Proficient in English language.
  13. Nice to have:
  14. Google Cloud experience with compute services, networking, data services (pub/sub, BigQuery), and IAM.
  15. Kubernetes know-how.
  16. Agile know-how (Kanban).
  17. Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket).
  18. Developer portal experience (e.g., Backstage).
  19. Java application experience (SpringBoot), SQL knowledge.
  20. REST-API experience.
