Project Overview

Our client, an international investment firm, is seeking a skilled data scientist to work on their internal platform for analyzing companies for potential future investments.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data analysis and machine learning models to support investment decisions
  • Work with large datasets to identify trends and patterns
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into business decisions
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and machine learning
Requirements
  • Advanced programming skills in Python, including experience with EDA, model training, and hyperparameter tuning
  • Expertise in standard frameworks and libraries such as scikit-learn and pandas
  • Familiarity with NLP libraries like NLTK, SpaCy, and scikit-learn
  • SQL expertise and experience with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB
  • Knowledge of NLP foundations, including vectorization methods and pre-trained models
  • Machine learning foundations, including ensemble methods for classification and regression
  • Clear and precise verbal and written communication
  • Autonomy to complete research projects with an NLP focus
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms, ideally GCP, and cloud services such as BigQuery
  • Visualization skills using interactive dashboards such as Streamlit or Dash
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Application of recent LLMs, including fine-tuning
  • Expertise in classical statistical techniques, including significance testing
  • Domain-specific experience with finance-related projects using unstructured data
