Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at PAYBACK. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, stability, and performance of our platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the interface between software development and application support teams to develop platforms in terms of reliability, stability, and performance.
  • Optimize container orchestration, central monitoring/logging, and deployment/run of products.
  • Automate recurring activities and develop "Infrastructure as Code" using suitable tests, monitoring procedures, and analysis tools to ensure availability of services and protection of customer data.
  • Support regional colleagues from Austria, Italy, Germany, Mexico, and Poland on technical questions, requests, or problems related to applications.
  • Work in a highly international team and with many different departments worldwide.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in development and maintenance of classic and modern Java application architectures in enterprise environment.
  • Additional languages like Python, Ruby, Go welcome.
  • Handling Linux environment (user level), virtualization, and containerization.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools like Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible, and code versioning svn, git.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Elasticsearch, Kibana, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Infrastructure experience or interest in areas of networks, firewalls, load balancer, databases.
  • Enthusiasm for agile methods and ideally first points of contact with DevOps.
  • Ability to work in a team, resilience, and openness to new challenges.
  • Very good written and spoken English, ideally German.
