Senior Accounting Manager - German Desk

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Manager to lead our German Desk accounting team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for planning and direction of team activities related to general accounting functions, reconciliation activities, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial processing, month-end close, cash management reports, and GL reconciliations for the DACH region.
  • Provide support to the German in-country controller in respect of local statutory and regulatory reporting.
  • Lead resolution of accounting issues and perform and lead monthly balance sheet reviews for the German business units.
  • Respond to external and internal audit requests.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and perform control procedures to ensure accounting records are maintained in compliance with company policy.
  • Work closely with the EMEA Controller and US Corporate Accounting team to ensure effective compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Effectively lead a team of accountants on a daily basis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor or master degree in Accounting or Finance related discipline.
  • A few years accounting experience in a similar reporting role within a large corporate or accounting company.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, especially for the DACH region.
  • Excellent English and Polish, both spoken and written.
  • Experience and ability to lead effectively a team in a dynamic environment, managing multiple and changing priorities.
  • Ability to gather and analyze operating metrics associated with accounting processes and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, as well as ability to influence people and work with teams across various functions.
