Job Overview

The Fund Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in providing full leadership and direction to a team of employees, overseeing various fund valuation activities in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The primary objective is to ensure seamless delivery of activities associated with Net Asset Valuations (NAVs).

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team members, including performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions. Provide support mechanisms for achievement, such as SMART goal setting.
  2. Calculate daily and periodic NAVs for funds and disseminate the associated unit prices to facilitate investor dealing, adhering to all local regulations, accepted accounting values, and local tax requirements. Produce a full set of audited annual financial accounts and unaudited semiannual accounts for each regulated entity.
  3. Complete regulatory reporting and associated client reporting requirements covering all aspects of funds valuation, portfolio, expenses, and transaction volumes, ensuring standard and client/regulatory formats.
  4. Assist the section manager of a team of Fund Accountants who are responsible for a broad spectrum of financial and accounting matters affecting clients.
  5. Identify and implement corrective action plans across teams while analyzing and assessing business risk.
  6. Serve as the primary point of escalation for internal/external staff queries, develop/manage process, productivity, and quality standards.
  7. Create, develop, and maintain business relationships, identify and implement service, system, and process enhancements, lead and evaluate system testing, and train staff on new technology enhancements.
  8. Support development and achievement of strategic goals and annual performance/compensation cycle, implementing methods to reduce expenses, recommend enhancements, and justify benefits.
Requirements

Candidates should possess:

  1. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  3. Chartered Accountant/CFA/MBA qualifications.
  4. Experience in accounting or related field.
  5. Knowledge of funds services and its processes and relevant technical systems.
  6. Previous supervisory experience.
  7. Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
  8. Consistent clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  9. Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in related area.
  10. ACCA certificate would be an additional asset.
