About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Leader to join our team at Carlson Wagonlit Travel. As Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for leading our accounting operations and ensuring the accurate compilation and analysis of our financial information.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a team of five financial professionals
  • Lead and manage accounting operations
  • Supervise and monitor the accounting process including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, and cash management
  • Prepare, file, and sign VAT declarations and other reports to tax and statistical local authorities
  • Manage Transfer Pricing activity
  • Coordinate statutory audits with external auditors
  • Interact with Tax Authority/Regulators and comply with any settlements
  • Conduct month-end close process and reconciliation of accounts
  • Prepare financial statements according to Polish Accounting Standards
  • Proactively work on improving accounting processes
Qualifications
  • Fluent in Polish and English
  • Certified Chartered Accountant
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance & other relevant certifications
  • Min. 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with people management responsibilities
  • Previous experience in a large multinational company
  • Strong operational experience with Polish accounting standards & VAT law
  • Experience using financial software systems (experience with Wings, Symphony, Trintech, Hyperion Financial Management is preferred)
  • Fluency in MS Excel
  • Ability to liaise with different levels of management
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, and team spirit
  • Ability to multitask and work towards strict deadlines
