About the Role

This is a critical position where you will be responsible for leading the strategy and execution of our data engineering and AI initiatives across the company. You will direct teams that build the infrastructure and models supporting our Fintech (Olympus) and AI-powered Virtual World (Pantheon) platforms.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and mentor data engineering and AI/ML teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Design and implement scalable data solutions, focusing on maintainability and performance.
  • Enhance existing reporting mechanisms to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Develop and integrate tools that empower our data analysts and scientists.
  • Oversight of the development, deployment, and fine-tuning of AI models (including BERT, Claude, etc.).
Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate with:

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering and/or cloud/web engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in leading the team and being able to directly communicate with the client

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Proficiency with cloud ETL tools such as AWS Glue and Azure Data Factory (ADF) for building data pipelines and orchestrating workflows
  • Hands-on experience with DBT for data transformation and modeling
  • Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and best practices (dimensional, star schema, snowflake, etc.)
  • Expertise in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets
  • Experience building, maintaining and optimizing data pipelines and overall data platform
  • Experience with data orchestration frameworks and tools such as AWS Lambda, Cloud Functions, and schedulers such as Airflow
  • Knowledge of at least one popular programming language used for statistical analysis, such as Python and R
  • Experience working with Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and Data Mesh
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure providers such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Further Requirements
  • Knowledge of reporting and data visualization best practices
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Redash, Tableau, Periscope, and Mode Analytics
  • A Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
