High Voltage Technician

Are you passionate about renewable energy and looking for a challenging role that combines electrical expertise with a focus on safety and quality? We are seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Technician to join our team at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy sp. z o.o.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and ensure safety cultures and behaviors within the role and team.
  • Work across all project execution environments, including preassembly, installation, and commissioning, focusing on HV cable, terminations, testing, and commissioning of associated HV equipment and wind turbine energization.
  • Develop and implement HV switching procedures, maintaining accurate records and documentation of all work activities according to company policy.
  • Deliver high-quality products that meet customer expectations.
  • Train, mentor, and share knowledge with trainees and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Passion for renewable energy and a commitment to leading the change.
  • Electrically skilled with relevant industry training and qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3, C&G 2357, Electrician, or Polish electrical equivalent.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience working with high voltage systems and procedures is desirable but not essential.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant high voltage experience.
  • A background in the renewable energy industry is desirable but not essential for candidates with the relevant electrical background.
  • A high level of health and safety focus with experience of working with safe systems of work.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and/or on own initiative, with the ability and confidence to work at height.
  • Comfortable and experienced working in adverse weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to successfully interact at various levels in an organization and consider different cultures.
  • High level of IT literacy.

How to Contribute to Our Vision

We are looking for certified electricians with experience in high voltage from other industries, interested in joining the offshore wind industry. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) will develop candidates into specialists for wind turbine installation and commissioning, experience as Authorized Person or Senior Authorized Person desired.

The High Voltage Technicians and Authorized Persons are dedicated and responsible for the high voltage installation, commissioning, and energization of wind turbine projects in line with safety guidelines, project requirements, corporate methods, and industry legislative standards.

This role will be based in Poland, with deployments to projects worldwide in Europe, the United States, and Asia-Pacific (EU, US, and APAC) as per business requirements. A flexible approach to travel and working away from home on a continuing basis is essential. The role will provide you with lots of variety, learning, and development opportunities, along with an exceptional team culture. The role is a global role, work can be in APAC, US, EU, and flexibility is required.
