Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Model Development Lead to join our Global Risk Analytics team at HSBC Service Delivery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of risk models and methodologies used for trading and operational risk measurement. This role is a senior position within our Krakow-based team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain robust risk models and methodologies that meet regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure model accuracy and effectiveness in measuring trading and operational risks.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior team members on model development and validation.
  • Communicate complex modeling concepts to stakeholders, including regulators and senior management.
Requirements
  • MSc/PhD in Quantitative Finance, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Strong experience in quantitative finance and risk modeling, preferably in the financial industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial mathematics, mathematical analysis, statistics, and linear algebra.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language and other relevant tools.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work in a global team environment.
