We are a Polish branch of a fast-growing InsurTech product company from Silicon Valley - Hippo Insurance. Our mission is to revolutionize home insurance in the US, starting from IoT monitoring devices to our industry-leading software. What You'll Do

You will be a key member of our IT Engineering function at Hippo, working closely with the IT Operations team and other business stakeholders to create scalable automated workflows that tie our systems together. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Building automation for IT Operations workflows using programming languages such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Implementing API integrations to connect decentralized systems together, enhancing business efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Architecting scalable solutions for systems access, leveraging a growth mindset.
  • Managing and enhancing Hippos MDM environment for macOS and Windows.
  • Engineering scalable solutions to reduce technical debt.
  • SUPPORTING the enforcement of security standards (antivirus/firewall/patching/two-factor authentication).
  • Acting as a key stakeholder in cross-functional projects, highlighting and championing company impact including user experience, security, infrastructure, and others.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 4 years of experience in a Systems Engineer/Automation Engineer or similar role. Additionally, you should bring with you 2+ years of experience in project leadership or management. You should also have intermediate-to-advanced scripting experience using PowerShell (preferred), Python, or Bash. Proficiency in cloud infrastructure tooling, including but not limited to AWS (preferred), Azure, or Terraform, is also required. Furthermore, you should have participated in cross-functional projects, actively contributing to company initiatives across various domains such as user experience, security, infrastructure, and others. Finally, you should have a good command of English (both written & spoken) - you'll work with the US team on a daily basis.

Additional Requirements

You will get extra points for previous experience building systems that meet compliance requirements from any of the following regulations: ISO 27001, PCI, SOC2, SOX. An understanding of RBAC concepts with infrastructure, IdP systems access, and beyond is also an advantage. Experience configuring/managing modern MDM systems such as Jamf, Workspace ONE, Intune, etc. is also desirable. A deep understanding of engineering ticket management, tracking metrics and trends, and defining/enforcing best practices (Sprint planning & management) would be great.

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $120,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
