Job Title: Cloud FinOps Senior Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud FinOps Senior Lead to join our Cloud Business Office team. As a key member of our FinOps squad, you will work closely with engineering teams and other stakeholders to ensure they are leveraging the full economic potential of Cloud through sound cloud financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage critical relationships with stakeholders, including engineers, Finance business partners, FinOps key stakeholders, cloud architects, and key vendors.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and analyze their applicability to Takeda applications, promoting their usage amongst engineers and business owners.
  • Promote a FinOps mindset across cloud-using teams, while being mindful of various challenges across a large application portfolio.
  • Constantly monitor cloud spend for each business unit and work with engineers to implement optimization opportunities, including advising on Reservation/Savings Plan purchases.
  • Build and maintain reports, including dashboards, suitable for key stakeholders of cloud.
  • Develop plans, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis on cloud consumption.
  • Link activity into financial processes and cycles, providing variance analysis to budgets during month-end reporting.
  • Ensure chargeback and showback processes are fully operational.
  • Establish guardrails/policies to detect and remove usage waste.
  • Continuously improve front-door and in-life processes, ensuring the right data is captured to drive cost transparency, optimization, and financial accountability.
  • Work with Finance teams to ensure correct accounting is applied according to Group Accounting Policy and assist in booking accruals during financial close.

Requirements:

  • Experience building and managing Cloud Cost analysis & visualizations using tools like Apptio, MS Excel, Power BI, or similar.
  • Good data query skills, generating actionable, concise, and presentable data visualizations.
  • Understanding of AWS Cloud fundamentals in FinOps to manage Cloud Budget, Forecast, Spend monitoring, purchasing various Commitments, and deriving Cloud Cost Optimization across the Organization.

Desired:

  • Experience with developing scripts using languages like Python, SQL, and Terraform to implement automated cost optimization control & attribution policies.
  • Certification in FinOps Foundation practitioner is desired.
  • Certification in AWS fundamentals or higher would be preferred.
