Cloud Engineering Expert: Azure Infrastructure and Observability

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineering Expert to join our team at Backbase, where you will play a key role in designing and implementing cloud-based infrastructure solutions using Azure. Your primary focus will be on developing monitoring, logging, and incident alerts solutions for our Managed Hosting service, as well as contributing to a reliable and performant enterprise-grade Observability Platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of our cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize Azure resources to support observability tools and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate observability features into our Managed Hosting offering.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for observability solutions, including architecture designs, incident reports, and performance metrics.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing best practices in Azure management, observability, and system reliability.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role running workloads on public cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Terraform or OpenTofu.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, and familiarity with incident response platforms like PagerDuty.
  • Experience with major Observability products in a SaaS environment is a plus.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to verbalize thoughts concisely and clearly.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
About the Role

This is a hybrid role, with opportunities to work from home (2 days per week) and collaborate with a diverse and inclusive team. As a Cloud Engineering Expert, you will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.

The estimated salary for this role is between 120,000 - 160,000 EUR per year, depending on location and experience.
