About the Role

Kitopi is a leading tech-powered multi-brand restaurant, and we're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our mid-size engineering team. As a key member of our engineering leadership, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional results and building high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Performance: Ensure the cross-functional team's performance meets exceptional results and high-quality products are delivered.
  2. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Manager and Data Analysts to make data-driven product decisions.
  3. Timeline and Dependencies: Understand timelines and dependencies and coordinate the team accordingly.
  4. Technical Strategy: Ensure development adheres to our strategy, architecture principles, and governance and compliance policies.
  5. Process Improvement: Help improve the product development process by representing engineering and communicating technical constraints, opportunities, and solutions.
  6. Culture and Leadership: Foster a culture of excellence, mentorship, and collaboration, and be an exemplary manager.
  7. Coaching and Development: Provide coaching and leadership to individual contributors from your team.
  8. Team Autonomy: Develop team autonomy in collaboration with other Engineering Managers and align with product managers to define and measure essential product KPIs.
  9. Technical Standards: Ensure your teams meet technical standards, such as code quality, security, and controlling technical debt.
  10. Efficiency and Improvement: Continually seek efficiency and improvement within the delivery value chain.
  11. Personal Development: Identify and support the development of team members' skills through personal development plans.
  12. Hiring and Onboarding: Assist in recruiting and onboarding new team members and building new teams as necessary based on business demand.
About You

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in managing mid-sized highly performing engineering teams. You should have a profound understanding of the engineering field, supported by at least 5 years of experience.

You'll thrive in fast-paced environments that rely on tight feedback loops and continuous delivery. You should possess experience collaborating across various functions, including Design, QA, System Engineering, Architecture, and Product. Proficiency in project management, effective communication, and the ability to manage senior stakeholders are also essential.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum is a plus. Excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as strong English language proficiency, are required. A willingness to learn and enthusiasm for skill development are also valued.
