The Role

We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead the design and development of our products. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for driving conceptualization and innovation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging your technical expertise to develop new concepts and solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the design and development of Skytree products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and contribute innovative ideas for enhancing product performance and functionality.
  • Utilize advanced 3D modeling tools to create detailed mechanical designs and conduct simulations and analyses to validate designs for performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee prototyping, rigorous testing, and collaboration with testing and quality assurance teams to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with specified requirements and standards.
  • Optimize design for cost-effective production by collaborating closely with manufacturing teams and providing support throughout the manufacturing process to address any design-related issues.
  • Continuously learn about the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and design technologies, and implement best practices and new techniques to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the design process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in mechanical design, with a focus on complex systems and components.
  • Demonstrated ability to design machines, with experience in CFD simulations for gas flows and heat transfer.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software, such as Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
  • Experienced in Design for Manufacturing & Assembly cycles.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with industrial vacuum systems and familiarity with the challenges and considerations associated with the design of vacuum-based machinery.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with heat exchangers and heat pumps.
