Job Title: Expert Manufacturing Test Engineer

At Aptiv, we're seeking a highly skilled Expert Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our global team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing test processes in manufacturing to support new product launches in mass production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing functional tests, working closely with product development design experts to ensure compliance with industrialization timing.
  • Lead the acquisition of new test equipment, including statement of work, request for quotation, supplier nomination, design reviews, and equipment acceptance at supplier.
  • Collaborate with Aptiv manufacturing locations to receive, install, debug, and release test equipment, including test software development, strain measurements, process capability studies, and environmental health and safety reviews.
  • Establish documentation and provide training for test equipment and processes in accordance with Aptiv guidelines.
  • Ensure test equipment compliance in terms of product quality, test requirements, and costs.
  • Support product development teams and collaborate closely with lead manufacturing engineers to ensure flawless launches by applying and supporting tools like P-FMEA, error proofing, test coverage analysis, and Six Sigma.
  • Perform product label drawing design reviews and lead the approval process.
  • Plan and conduct test peer reviews.
  • Support OEM RFQ phases by estimating equipment cost, lead time, and test times.
  • Support lessons learned sharing between sites and between product lines.
  • Participate in escalation meetings on program management level.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or similar with relevant work experience.
  • Proficient software development skills in one or more of the following software languages: National Instruments LabView, NI LabWindows CVI, NI TestStand, C++, and C.
  • Basic project management capabilities.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of mechanical design of test tooling.
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, LVDS, Flex-Ray, Broad@Reach, and flashing concepts of memory devices.
  • Knowledge in 6-sigma-for-Test and statistical methods.
  • Good problem-solving capability, including hands-on capability for S/W debugging.
  • Knowledge of electronics measurement devices and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a global network environment.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and proactive work style.
  • Fluent business English.
