About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Course Developer to join our team at Splunk Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to work on developing eLearning content for enterprise cloud services, security, and observability solutions.



Key Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, document, and maintain exceptional technical eLearning courses and assets, including design specifications, lab environments, lab data, lab documents, slides, scripts, instructor notes, change logs, and bug tracking.
  • Leverage your expertise to learn quickly, collaborate efficiently, and share knowledge with your team, covering new and temporary projects as needed.
  • Ensure that learning and performance objectives are tailored to the audience and that the training materials meet performance objectives.
  • Conduct independent research using available resources, optimize subject matter expert time, and build collaborative relationships with colleagues across organizations.
  • Accurately scope projects and estimate time required, consistently meeting deadlines and communicating promptly when obstacles arise.
  • Work on and manage multiple projects concurrently, monitoring activity, progress, and time related to project development.
  • Consult widely across organizations to determine objectives.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to perform skill gap assessments and build training content to address those gaps.



Requirements


  • Expertise in using at least one eLearning authoring tool, such as Articulate 360 (Rise or Storyline), or Adobe Captivate.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale SaaS products and cloud computing technologies and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), familiar with data collection and analysis tools.
  • Able to explain highly technical subject matter, including using APIs, configuring/deploying/administering servers, and "agents" for data collection/ingestion.
  • At least 3 years of software/technology experience.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience developing commercial technical eLearning for enterprise SaaS products.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, innovation, diversity advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to coordinate and prioritize effectively.
  • High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues.
  • Proven communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines in an environment with continuously evolving requirements.
  • Basic graphic design and layout skills.



Preferred Qualifications


  • Splunk product experience, Linux/Unix, SQL, familiarity with machine data, and telemetry data such as metrics, logs, or traces.
  • Security Operations Center experience.
  • Data analytics experience.
  • Basic instructional script-writing and video editing skills (Camtasia, Screenflow, etc.).
  • Experience with basic data generation, scripting skills, Kubernetes, Python, Ansible.
  • Experience with enterprise tools: Jira, SmartSheet, SalesForce, Confluence, etc.
  • Background in software development, coding, CICD, software quality assurance, technical marketing, technical support, documentation.



Education

We require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.

Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
