About the Role

We're seeking a Tech Lead/Manager to lead a small team of experienced engineers. This role combines hands-on software engineering and leadership, requiring the ability to dive deep into problems, delegate responsibilities, grow and develop talented engineers, and cultivate a results-driven culture.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Technical: coding, code reviews, and architectural designs
  • Operations: issue triage, system stability, and cloud optimization
  • Performance: improving SQL query and API endpoint latency
  • Management: team growth, delegation, and timely delivery of important items
  • Integrations: building and designing integrations with external systems

This is a hands-on position, requiring around 50% of your time coding.

About You
  • 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with at least 1 year dedicated to full-time engineering team management
  • Proven track record in managing complex, cross-functional projects across multiple teams
  • Skilled at hiring talented engineers and building high-performing teams
  • Ability to make strategic trade-offs for high-quality code in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong development and system design skills, with experience in Python, React, and AWS a plus
  • Adept at optimizing APIs and SQL queries for performance
  • Familiar with monitoring tools like DataDog, Sentry, or similar services
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field
