Job Description

TN Poland is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team in Krakow. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the US and global accounting teams to provide exceptional customer service to our business units and management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve monthly journal entries in Verisk's accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data according to US GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate generation of financial reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining appropriate documentation for all responsible SOX controls.
  • Liaise with Business Units to complete various SOX controls around Internally Developed Software, supporting the audit process by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
  • Prepare complex monthly balance sheet reconciliation, reviewing and analyzing account reconciliations prepared by junior staff members.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of discrepancies and reconciling items in a timely manner, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and transactions.
  • Actively participate in the monthly closing process, including expense and balance sheet account analysis pertaining to owned areas, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and auditing departments.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the general ledger function, participating in work transition from various locations and leading special projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience in general ledger, with a Master's degree in accounting or other relevant field required.
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) required; basic German beneficial but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel - extensive knowledge of Pivot Table / Chart, Macros, etc.).
  • Excellent communication/documentation skills (oral and written), excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities, detail oriented, meticulous, and extremely diligent.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop junior staff members.
