At Michael Page, we are currently looking for a seasoned SSC Head to lead our client's financial services operations in Europe.

About the Role

  • Oversee the transition activities of the shared service center, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan, outlining key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements, to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Create or enhance training programs for functions transitioning to the shared service center, equipping employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and refine the shared services strategy and roadmap, aligning it with the company's overall objectives.
  • Establish and monitor shared services metrics and performance indicators, providing insights to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering open communication and ensuring mutual understanding of shared services goals and expectations.
  • Elevate shared services ways of working to promote a balance of ownership between relevant teams and shared services personnel.
  • Support teams utilizing shared services to optimize their processes, driving efficiency and automation.
  • Work with the Director of Shared Services to identify new areas where shared services can add value, developing a solid business case for review and approval.
  • Design an onboarding and training program for functions migrating to Shared Services, taking into account regional differences and compliance requirements.
  • Identify and implement process and system enhancements to continuously improve operations, recognizing potential risks and issues promptly.
  • Liaise with HR/Payroll consultants to ensure Polish compliance with government regulations, guaranteeing employee onboarding meets all necessary standards.
  • Review and approve additional tasks, ensuring adequate resourcing is available to meet business needs.

About You

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in management and shared service roles, or equivalent experience as a Financial Controller/Manager in a commercial business.
  • Excellent English language skills, with ideal knowledge of German and French languages.
  • The ability to manage diverse teams in dynamic environments, working autonomously and being self-motivated.
  • Experience in developing training programs, implementing, and measuring KPIs across functions.
  • Professional accounting qualification, along with a bachelor's degree in accounting, and relevant management accounting reporting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, develop innovative strategies, and embody a customer-centric mentality.
  • Proven capacity to foster collaboration, build partnerships, and influence teams.
  • Natural leadership skills, focusing on coaching, inspiration, and encouraging best practices for exemplary delivery with measurable results.
  • Demonstrated resilience and high agility.
  • Experience or understanding of GDPR and international data laws and regulations for European law.
