Base Pay Range
The base pay range for this position is $148,000.00 - $203,500.00 per year.
This role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
About the Job
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mobile Automation Specialist to spearhead the development and implementation of comprehensive QA automation suites using Appium.
Your primary responsibility will be to lead automation efforts, proposing and implementing innovative automation strategies that align with our mobile development goals.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and enhancement of automation practices within our mobile development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Automation Efforts: Develop and implement comprehensive QA automation suites using Appium, optimizing testing processes and enhancing the quality of our mobile applications.
- Strategy Development: Propose and implement automation strategies that align with our mobile development goals, focusing on increasing efficiency, reducing error rates, and shortening development cycles.
- Tool Integration: Evaluate existing testing tools and technologies, identifying opportunities for improvement and integration to create a more cohesive QA environment.
- Collaboration and Requirements Gathering: Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and technical challenges, helping define clear automation requirements and technical specifications that align with business goals.
- Technical Liaison: Serve as a key technical contact between the QA team and other departments, including Product Development and User Experience, to continuously improve the quality and functionality of our mobile applications.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ Years Experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years of experience in mobile application testing.
- Expertise in Mobile Automation: Proficient with Appium or similar mobile testing frameworks (e.g. Robot Framework, Espresso, XCTest).
- Programming Skills: Strong coding skills in languages such as Kotlin , Python, or Swift, capable of writing scalable and maintainable automation scripts.
- Experience with SauceLabs.
- Familiarity with Mobile Development Environments: Extensive knowledge of mobile development platforms, SDKs, and the mobile release process on both iOS and Android.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to articulate technical details and project requirements effectively to both technical and non-technical team members.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
The following qualifications would be advantageous:
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and familiarity with tools such as GitLab, Jenkins or CircleCI.
- Knowledge of additional automation tools and frameworks that complement Appium.
- Prior experience with performance and security testing for mobile applications.
- Prior experience with test management software like TestRail.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and participation in Agile teams.
- Understanding of the latest trends in mobile technology and testing, including cloud-based mobile testing solutions.
