About the Role:
The Software Architect at BorgWarner is responsible for creating the software architectural design specification for power drive systems products based on software requirements. This involves ensuring an A-SPICE-compliant documentation of the architecture in text and graphic form, such as with UML. Additionally, the Software Architect participates in the development of complex embedded software from conception to series production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing software requirements to identify architecturally significant elements
- Evaluating software architectural choices
- Defining the software architecture elements
- Allocating software requirements to the elements of the software architectural design
- Defining interfaces of software elements
- Describing dynamic behavior of software elements
- Creating/updating bi-directional traceability between software architecture elements and software requirements
- Analyzing resources (CPU load, code size, RAM size, etc.) and defining consumption objectives
- Prioritizing software components for criticality and complexity to serve as an input to implementation and test effort planning
- Planning and coordinating with internal and external partners for software architecture topics
Requirements:
- B.S. in Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- At least 3 years' experience in embedded software development in C and software design
- Experience with globally distributed teams
- Experience with ISO26262/IEC61508/A-SPICE
- Knowledge in the following areas is an advantage:
- Tool knowledge in Bitbucket, JIRA, Enterprise Architect, Polarion
- Knowledge of automotive-oriented software architecture, AUTOSAR
- Knowledge of the Infineon Tricore Aurix controller family
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Fluency in English is required
