Job Title: MySQL Database Administrator

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled MySQL Database Administrator to join our DevOps and Cloud engineering team. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting entire database environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise the database server setup from VM config, OS level config to MySQL server settings.
  • Provide optimised queries for development in at least MySQL, but preferably T-SQL.
  • Pro-actively monitor and intercept issues like slowness and constantly drive down issues.
  • Provide input around current architecture setup.
  • Be a SME for people to reach out around DB queries.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' commercial experience in database administration.
  • Expertise in the SQL language.
  • Experience in maintaining and monitoring database performance and configuration via monitoring tools.
  • Experience in implementing changes, and applying new versions when required.
  • Experience in data models / architecture / design for relational and non-relational databases.
  • Good knowledge and experience in using MySQL Workbench, phpMyAdmin, Novicat for MySQL or other data base admin tools.
