Hitachi Energy Poland Sp. z o.o., a leading innovator in the energy sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior FPGA Hardware Engineer to join its R&D team.

Your Role

As a Senior FPGA Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing next-generation HVDC control and protection systems using FPGA modules from top vendors. Your expertise will drive innovation and contribute to the success of our flagship project, Modular Advanced Control for HVDC (MACHTM).

You will work closely with international teams under Agile/SAFe methodology, leveraging your skills in VHDL, ModelSim, and VUnit to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your Responsibilities
  • Participate in the full design cycle of next-generation HVDC control and protection systems based on FPGA modules.
  • Scout applicable solutions based on project requirements, impacting final solutions.
  • Develop, simulate, and validate using VHDL + ModelSim + VUnit.
  • Contribute to continuous integration processes.
  • Prototype and test on real HW in modern laboratories.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electronics/Control Engineering or related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in FPGA/ASIC design & simulation in VHDL/(and/or Verilog).
  • Good understanding of synchronous design, time constraining, and static timing analysis.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment, prototyping, and testing.
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following relevant workplace safety guidelines.
  • High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about modern technologies.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and effective communication skills.
  • Experience in modelling in High Level Synthesis would be an advantage.
  • Experience in self-testing test-benches and regression tests would be an advantage.
Salary Information

Our estimated annual salary for this position is approximately 120,000 - 150,000 PLN, depending on qualifications and experience.
