EBS, a part of Alarm.com, is seeking an experienced Software Technical Lead to join their fast-paced Video Engineering team. As a member of this dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in the Internet of Things world, including smart home and business automation, video streaming, clip uploads, video monitoring, and analysis.

As a Software Technical Lead, you will be responsible for developing full-stack software for various platforms and technologies. You will participate in the entire project life cycle, from requirements development to deployment, and take ownership of projects to ensure their successful completion with respect to deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of professional experience in Software Development, a B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or a similar engineering program, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience leading and/or mentoring other engineers, expert object-oriented programming skills, and significant experience with database design and development are also essential.

You will work closely with outstanding people across a fascinating spectrum of wireless, software, and hardware/device technologies to develop outstanding consumer products. This role offers a unique opportunity to make an immediate impact and gain exposure to a broad spectrum of IoT and SaaS technology. You'll work with .NET, SQL Server, Kafka, Ember.js, and native iOS and Android applications. We don't want to micro-manage you; we want you to own stuff and bring your experience to make those products the best in class.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a mentor to our growing engineering department
  • Develop full stack software for a wide variety of platforms and technologies
  • Take part in the entire project life cycle, from requirements development to deployment
  • Help lead the research, evaluation, and application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging problems
  • Take ownership of projects to ensure their successful completion with respect to deadlines

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Software Development
  • B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering program
  • English proficiency. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience leading and/or mentoring other engineers
  • Expert object-oriented programming skills (ex. C#)
  • Significant experience with database design and development
